Julia Bletcher
Coming from a science background, Julia is particularly interested in the scientific research behind acupuncture and after witnessing the improvements acupuncture gave her daughter, she was intrigued to find out more! Being so impressed with the results, Julia decided to completely change her career and embark on BSc (Hons) degree course to study Chinese Medicine and gain the acupuncture skills necessary to help others.
As well as enabling her to help others, Julia has found applying the principles of Chinese Medicine to her own life has greatly enhanced her own health and well-being. Known for her calm manner and for taking the time to fully understand and deal with her patient’s needs, Julia helps new and nervous patients become quickly reassured.
As a fully qualified acupuncturist and member of the Acupuncture Society, Julia trained for 3 years at the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM) studying the 5 Element System of acupuncture and Stems and Branches in combination with the more commonly known Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This comprehensive approach along with an ITEC diploma in massage provides her with the expertise for a wide spectrum of symptoms and conditions.
She has studied facial rejuvenation acupuncture and in 2014 completed a further study course in acupuncture at Shanghai TCM University. She is particularly interested in using acupuncture for mental illness and has published research; Acupuncture for Depression (EJOM Autumn (2014) 7(5):35-41)
